Emilhenco

Émile Cohen-Meyer, known professionally as Emilhenco (and Tany Turens), is a French author, composer, and singer born on September 6, 1938, in Bizerte, Tunisia. He began his career in the early 1960s, releasing the EP Les Bras en croix (1963) and composing the score for the film Baiser de 16 ans (1963). In 1966, he released the single “Che ti ho fatto di male”. Emilhenco performed at the Tournée Radio Monte-Carlo and the Festival international de Varadero in Cuba with the song “Pardonne”. He graduated in Sopot, Poland, in 1967 and joined FIDOF in 1970. During the 1970s and 1980s, he composed scores for films including Coco la Fleur, candidat (1979), Mamito (1980), and Flics de choc (1983). Under the name Sergent Émile, he released the album Sings of Love in the United States. Emilhenco collaborated with Jacqueline Nero on “Marlyna” and produced instrumentals for Minnesota 3M.
