Ãmile Cohen-Meyer, known professionally as Emilhenco (and Tany Turens), is a French author, composer, and singer born on September 6, 1938, in Bizerte, Tunisia. He began his career in the early 1960s, releasing the EP Les Bras en croix (1963) and composing the score for the film Baiser de 16 ans (1963). In 1966, he released the single âChe ti ho fatto di maleâ. Emilhenco performed at the Tournée Radio Monte-Carlo and the Festival international de Varadero in Cuba with the song âPardonneâ. He graduated in Sopot, Poland, in 1967 and joined FIDOF in 1970. During the 1970s and 1980s, he composed scores for films including Coco la Fleur, candidat (1979), Mamito (1980), and Flics de choc (1983). Under the name Sergent Ãmile, he released the album Sings of Love in the United States. Emilhenco collaborated with Jacqueline Nero on âMarlynaâ and produced instrumentals for Minnesota 3M.
