El Postre, a German rap-metal band from Kamp-Lintfort near Duisburg in the Ruhr region, was founded in 1997 by brothers Marcel and Andres de la Puente. The group began their musical journey with several demo recordings before releasing their debut album Das Fundament in 2006, featuring the single "Tief im Herzen", a duet featuring singer Rabea. In 2008, El Postre decided to produce music independently and released the EP Malocher Mix Schacht 1 as a free download. This was followed by several other albums available for free download, including Meister-Werk (2008), Malocher Mix Schacht 2 (2009), and Wechselschicht (2010). In December 2010, DJ Stefan "Nafex" Hoppe left the band due to personal differences and was replaced by a second guitarist in summer 2012. The band's self-produced album Schweres Gerät was released on October 28, 2016, marking their collaboration with the indie label Quasilectric.
