Eiko Segawa

Eiko Segawa (born July 6, 1947 in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) is an enka singer. Her real name is Eiko Shimizu (maiden name Segawa), and her father is the popular singer Shin Segawa. She took singing lessons under her father's strict guidance from her childhood and made her debut in 1967 with " Nada no Kageboushi". Initially, her stage name was Eiko Segawa, and after a steady stream of activities, " Nagasaki no Yoru wa Murasaki " became a hit in 1970. She continued to gain popularity with such well-known songs as " Yagiri no Watashi " and " Namae Kurenai". In 2012, she released the single " Otoko Hate" to commemorate the 45th anniversary of her debut. The song was released as a coupling track to her debut song "Tears in the Rain". It was also notable for including a new version of their debut song " Namida no Kageboushi " as a coupling track.
