ЯeaL is a Japanese all-female rock band that was formed in Osaka Prefecture in 2012, consisting of members Ryoko, Fumiha, and Aika, as well as support guitarist Yuri who joined in 2022. The name "Real" was chosen because of a desire to use a cool English word, with the Cyrillic letter Я representing the showing of the real inside and outside of the band. The original lineup was solidified when the members were in junior high school, and they made their major label debut in 2016 with the release of the single "Byōsoku Emotion" on SME Records. The band's music has been featured in various anime television series, including Gin Tama, Pokémon The Series: Sun & Moon, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. ЯeaL began performing at live houses in Osaka but did not gain much popularity initially. However, their popularity increased over time, leading to them competing in the Eo Music Try contest in 2013 and releasing their first self-produced CD. In 2014, they released the mini-album Change Your Real, and in 2015, they performed at Summer Sonic, where they received two awards and praise from judges. The band's major debut under SME Records in 2016 saw the release of their first major single "Byōsoku Emotion," followed by "Kamen Mīhā Joshi" and "Kagerō." Their music was used as opening themes for various television programs, including TBS' Rank Ōkoku and Gin Tama. In 2017, they released their first album 19., but guitarist Yurika left the band following the end of their promotional tour. ЯeaL became an independent band again in 2021, and Yuri officially joined as a guitarist the following year. The band's fourth single "Mirai Connection" released in 2018 was used as an opening theme for Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon – Ultra Adventures, and they made voice cameos in an episode of the series. Their fifth single "Tsuyogari Loser" (2019) was used as an opening theme for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. The band's second major album Light Up Ambivalents was released on September 16, 2020.
