American girl group, Dream, was formed in October 1998 and initially consisted of Holly Blake-Arnstein, Melissa Schuman, Ashley Poole, and Alex Chester. The group was originally called First Warning before changing their name to Dream. They were signed to Bad Boy Records after auditioning for Sean Combs. Their debut single "He Loves U Not" peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in September 2000. In January 2001, they released their first album It Was All a Dream, which reached number 6 on the Billboard 200. The group's second single "This Is Me" gained traction with its music video, which hit Number 1 on TRL. To promote It Was All a Dream, Dream participated in the 2001 TRL tour and made various television appearances. In April 2002, Melissa Schuman left the group and was replaced by Kasey Sheridan. Dream released the single "Crazy" featuring rapper Loon in 2003, which peaked at number 39 on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40. However, amid conflicts with their label and dissatisfaction with the imposed image, Dream disbanded without a formal announcement. In 2015, they briefly reunited to release the single "I Believe" before disbanding again on October 5, 2016.
