Downset (usually stylized as downset.), an American rap metal band from Los Angeles, California, was formed in 1989 under the original name Social Justice. Initially a hardcore punk band, the band changed its name to downset. They signed with Mercury Records in 1994 and released their self-titled album. In 1996, they released Do We Speak A Dead Language?, their most commercially successful album. After leaving Mercury Records, they signed with Epitaph Records and released Check Your People in 2000, followed by Universal in 2004. The band disbanded in 2009. Downset reunited and released One Blood in 2014. They later signed with Nuclear Blast Records and released Maintain in 2022.
