Douglas Spotted Eagle

Douglas Spotted Eagle, born Douglas Wallentine in 1962, is an American flutist from Valley Junction, Iowa, known for his work with Native American-style flute. Raised in a non-Native family, he initially played guitar in a Christian rock band after moving to Salt Lake City, Utah. His music career began with the release of Sacred Feelings in 1990, followed by several albums including CanyonSpeak (1990) and Stand at the Center (1992). Spotted Eagle's work often blended jazz, new age, pop, and world beat elements with Native American music. He won a Grammy Award for his audio engineering and production work. In addition to his musical endeavors, he produced the video The Way of the Pow-Wow in 2002. Spotted Eagle has also been recognized for his contributions to film composition and has authored several books on music production and video editing.
