Dot Allison

Dot Allison (born Dorothy Elliot Allison on 17 August 1969 in Edinburgh, Scotland) is a singer, songwriter and producer whose ethereal vocals and genre-blending sound have made her a fixture in the UK electronic and indie scene. She has collaborated with notable artists including Massive Attack, Paul Weller, Scott Walker, Pete Doherty, and members of Primal Scream and The Bad Seeds. She first gained attention as the vocalist for One Dove in the early 1990s before launching her solo career with Afterglow (1999), a dreamy fusion of electronic and pop. She followed up with We Are Science (2002), exploring electroclash and indie electronica, and Exaltation of Larks (2007), adding baroque pop textures. Other releases include Room Seven and a Half (2011), the introspective Heart-Shaped Scars (2021), and Consciousology (2023), which further showcase her blend of trip-hop, dream pop, and indie folk. In 2025, she launched a collaborative project with Anton Newcombe called All Seeing Dolls and released the Parallel album. 2025 also saw the release of Subconsciousology, a remix album of her Consciousology LP by Lomond Campbell.
