Doro

Dorothee Pesch (born June 3, 1964 in Düsseldorf), known by her stage name Doro, is a rock singer from Germany. Fans refer to the artist as the "Queen of Metal". Before her solo career, she enjoyed her first major success as the frontwoman of the band Warlock. After her departure in 1988, Doro released her solo debut Force Majeure a year later. It reached number 5 in Germany and even made it into the US charts at number 145. At the beginning of the 1990s, Doro also moved to the USA. There she recorded her second and self-titled album Doro (number 9 in Germany) in 1990. Doro plays at the big rock festivals. She also develops a close relationship with Motörhead singer Lemmy Kilmister. He supported the singer vocally on one song on her 2000 album Calling the Wild. She later worked with other rock greats such as the Scorpions, Saxon and Udo Dirkschneider. In 2010, Doro accompanied the Motörhead tour and played the support act. At the same time, the singer regularly releases further albums with great success. In 2018, Doro reached number 4 in Germany with the album Forever Warriors / Forever United. In 2023, Doro celebrates her 40th stage anniversary at the legendary Wacken Open Air. She accompanies artists from bands such as Motörhead, Saxon, Broilers, Anthrax and the Scorpions. In October of the same year, Doro released Conqueress - Forever Strong And Proud, her 14th studio album. Almost two years later, Doro releases the compilation Warriors of the Sea, which reaches number 9 in the German charts.
