Don McGlashan

Donald McGlashan (born July 18, 1959) is a New Zealand composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist from Auckland. He began musical studies at age seven and joined the percussion group From Scratch and the Auckland Symphonia in 1979. McGlashan joined the band Blam Blam Blam in 1981, releasing the single “Don't Fight It Marsha, It's Bigger Than Both of Us”, which reached number 17 in New Zealand. In 1985, he co-founded the multi-media duo The Front Lawn, followed by The Mutton Birds in 1991. McGlashan composed for films including An Angel at My Table (1990) and No. 2 (2006), the latter featuring his award-winning song “Bathe in the River”. He toured as a member of Crowded House in 2008. His solo discography included the albums Warm Hand (2006), Lucky Stars (2015), and the number 1 release Bright November Morning (2022). He was inducted into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame in 2023.
