Lee Joon-kyung (born March 28, 1990), better known by his stage name Dok2 (pronounced “Dokki”), is a South Korean rapper, producer, and entrepreneur recognized as one of the pioneers of Korean hip hop’s modern era. Born in Gyeongju, he made his first stage appearance at age 12, performing “FEVER” with Jo-PD and Hype at the 2002 Mnet Music Video Festival. At 13, he signed with Future Flow Entertainment and quickly gained attention as a prodigious songwriter and producer, contributing to music by Drunken Tiger, Dynamic Duo, and Epik High. In 2006, Dok2 debuted as part of All Black with rapper Microdot, releasing Chapter 1. He later released his first solo EP Thunderground (2009) under Epik High’s Map the Soul label. In 2011, he co-founded Illionaire Records with The Quiett, establishing it as one of South Korea’s most influential hip hop labels and later launching sub-label Ambition Musik. That same year, he released his breakthrough album Hustle Real Hard, which helped define his signature style of confidence and ambition. His 2015 album Multillionaire and hit single “1llusion” cemented his mainstream success. Dok2 gained further recognition as a producer and judge on Show Me the Money seasons 3, 5, and 6. After resigning as CEO of Illionaire Records, he moved to the United States, signing with Tyga’s Last Kings Records in 2021 and continuing his global hip hop career.
