Dog Trumpet is an Australian rock band founded in 1990 by brothers Reg Mombassa and Peter O'Doherty. They formed after taking a sabbatical from Mental As Anything. Their debut album Two Heads One Brain (1991) featured the singles "Jean" / "Nobody Home", "Made of Wood" / "Red Brick Home", and "I'm So Handsome" / "Dream". Their sound reflected an affection for 1960s pop and psychedelia. Subsequent releases include the EPs Kiss a Gun Down (1992) and Strange Brew (1993), and the albums Suitcase (1996), Dog Trumpet (2002), Antisocial Tendencies (2007), and River of Flowers (2010). In 2013, they released the double album Medicated Spirits, which was short-listed for the Australian Music Prize. They performed at various festivals including Port Fairy Folk Festival, Bluesfest, Blue Mountains Music Festival, and SXSW. Their seventh album, Great South Road (2020), featured the singles "Gravity" and "Wallpaper", which was followed by Shadowland (2022) and Live Forever (2025).
