Doble El Elegido

José Luis Velázquez Maldonado, known as Doble El Elegido, is a Puerto Rican producer, songwriter and urban artist whose career began behind the scenes, contributing compositions to reggaeton projects such as Don Omar’s album Forever King, where he co-wrote tracks including “Ranking” and “Baby Boo,” and building a résumé that included work with Chencho Corleone, Almighty, Pacho Alqaedas, Luar La L and Jadiel El Tsunami; his catalog from this period earned RIAA platinum certifications, Latin Airplay Number 1 placements and Billboard Latin Music Awards nominations. He moved further into the spotlight in 2021 with the single “Yo Se (Remix),” a multi-artist track featuring Baby Johnny, Jehza, Anubiis, Jetson El Super, Joy Almanyk and Producto Sin Corte. In 2022 he consolidated his role as a lead artist and curator with “Alma Negra,” released on 14 April 2022 with Wachoo, Baby Johnny and Joy Almanyk, while also appearing on Baby Johnny’s single “Me Dicen” and issuing the posse cut “Juega Vivo (Remix)” alongside Ñengo Flow, Ele A El Dominio, Pacho El Antifeka, Hanzel La H and D.Ozi under his Los Elegidos banner. Earlier in 2025 he returned with “Guaguita De Mariscos,” a collaboration with La Momia released through Los Elegidos, before launching his most ambitious project up to that point, “Intro: MEIN LEBEN,” issued on 6 November 2025 as a 13-minute EP on Los Elegidos and credited jointly to Doble El Elegido, Luar La L, Hades66 and Hanzel La H with verses from Ñengo Flow, iZaak, Juanka, Mvchoo23, Omy de Oro, Noriel, Jouseph Yadiel, La Momia, Baby Johnny and Kendo Kaponi. Days later he released “Techo de Cristal,” a single with La Exce described as the second chapter of this concept, confirming that Doble El Elegido remained an active creative force at the center of Puerto Rico’s urbano scene.
