Do Nothing

Formerly known as "Field Studies," Do Nothing is a British post-punk revival band that formed in Nottingham, England, in 2012. Inspired by diverse artists like Tom Waits, Spoon, and Simon and Garfunkel, Field Studies released a debut EP, Celestial, in 2013, while the band's four members were still teenagers. This was followed by a second EP, Rainmaking, in 2016. Following a tour in support of the latter EP's release, Field Studies officially changed its name to Do Nothing in 2017. Guitarist Kasper Sandstrøm, bassist Charlie Howarth, drummer Andrew Harrison, and lead singer Chris Bailey released two singles, "Waitress" and "Handshakes," under their band's new name in 2018. "Gangs" followed in 2019, "Zero Dollar Bill" appeared in 2020, and an EP, Glueland, was released in 2021. Do Nothing began releasing singles from the band's debut full-length album in 2023, with "Happy Feet" and "Amoeba" both generating new buzz for the band. This buzz culminated in the release of Snake Sideways, an album whose lyrics tackled themes like anxiety, existentialism, and the modern-day news cycle. Released in July 2023, Snake Sideways reached number 87 on the Top 100 Official Albums chart in the UK.
