Discovery

Discovery, an American electronic music project formed in the United States, was founded by Rostam Batmanglij and Wesley Miles, both of whom had established careers with Vampire Weekend and Ra Ra Riot. The duo began recording together in the summer of 2005, blending synth-pop with auto-tuned R&B influences. Their initial work remained unfinished as the members pursued their primary bands, but after the release of Vampire Weekend’s Contra (2010) and Ra Ra Riot’s The Rhumb Line (2008), they returned to the studio to complete Discovery’s debut album LP, issued on July 7, 2009 through XL Recordings. The album showcased tracks such as “Orange Shirt” and “Can You Discover?”, which contributed to the project’s cult following within indie and electronic music circles.
