Diogo Nogueira

Born April 26, 1981 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Diogo Nogueira is a samba singer, songwriter, and musician. The son of composer João Nogueira, he initially pursued a career as a musician but his father urged him to pursue a career as football player. His dreams of being a footballer were crushed after a knee injury so Nogueira switched his attention to music again. His first release was 2007’s Ao Vivo, which was recorded at the Teatro João Caetano in Rio de Janeiro. He followed that album with the Latin Grammy-winning studio release Tô fazendo A Minha Parte (2009). He released two more live releases – 2010’s Sou Eu (Ao Vivo) and Ao Vivo Em Cuba (2012) – before returning with the 2013 studio release Mais Amore. He collaborated with Hamilton de Holanda on the 2015 album Bossa Negra, which was nominated for Best Samba/Pagode Album at the 16th Latin Grammy Awards. Porta-Voz Da Legria was released in 2015 followed the next year by the live release Alma Brasileira, which featured the popular song “Tim Tim Por Tim Tim”. Munduê was released in 2017. The live album Diogo Nogueira ao Vivo em Porto Alegre was released in 2020. Nogueira released the single “Princípio, Meio e Film” in August, 2020. In 2021, his album Samba de Verão was nominated for the Latin Grammy Award for Best Samba/Pagode Album. He followed with SAGRADO, Vol. 1 in 2023 and SAGRADO, Vol. 2 in 2025, two warmly received studio albums celebrating Brazilian culture and everyday life. His 2025 single “Princípio, Meio e Fim / Porta‑Voz da Alegria (Ao Vivo),” along with tracks like “Timidez” and “Malandro Sou Eu,” reaffirmed his creative momentum. During this period, he also earned another Latin Grammy nomination for “Pé na Areia” and continued contributing to samba-enredo compositions for Carnival.
