Detonautas

Detonautas is a Brazilian rock band formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1997 by vocalist Tico Santa Cruz and bassist Tchello after the two met through an online chatroom. The current lineup features Tico Santa Cruz on lead vocals, Renato Rocha on guitar and backing vocals, Phil Machado on guitar and backing vocals, André “Macca” Agrizzi on bass and Fábio Brasil on drums. After adding Rodrigo Netto, Fábio Brasil and DJ Cléston, the band signed with Warner Music and released its debut album, Detonautas Roque Clube, in 2002, led by songs such as “Outro Lugar,” “Quando o Sol Se For” and “Olhos Certos.” Its second album, Roque Marciano, followed in 2004, earned gold certification in Brazil, and included “O Dia Que Não Terminou,” “O Amanhã,” “Tênis Roque” and “Só Por Hoje.” In 2006, Detonautas released Psicodeliamorsexo&distorção; that same year, guitarist Rodrigo Netto was killed in Rio de Janeiro, a loss that shaped the band’s next phase. The group moved to Sony Music for O Retorno de Saturno in 2008, then released the live/acoustic project Acústico in 2010 and performed at Rock in Rio in 2011, 2013, 2019 and 2024. After becoming independent, Detonautas issued A Saga Continua in 2014 and VI in 2017. The band shortened its name from Detonautas Roque Clube to Detonautas around the release of Álbum Laranja in 2021, followed by Esperança in 2022 and the anniversary live album 20 Anos - Acústico in 2023. In 2025, it released the EP DVersões and “Potinho de Veneno.” In 2026, Detonautas returned with Rádio Love Nacional, its ninth studio album, released by Deck and featuring “Rádio Love Nacional,” “Potinho de Veneno,” “Vampira” with Milton Cunha, “Fim da Encruzilhada” and “Dor Fantasma.”
