Der Zibet

Der Zibet, a Japanese visual kei rock band, was formed in 1984 by vocalist Issay Fujisaki and bassist Hal Kawashima. The group initially included guitarist Hikaru Yoshida, drummer Mayumi Sampe, and keyboardist Mahito Fujiwara. Der Zibet released their debut album 紫色の舞踏会 on October 21, 1985, under Sixty Records. Their fourth album, Garden, recorded in London in 1988, was notable for its accompanying VHS release, Der Zibet in Garden. The band took an indefinite hiatus in 1996 after releasing 12 studio albums and one compilation. Der Zibet reunited in 2007 with Mahito as a full-time member and released their album Primitive on March 6, 2009. Following Issay Fujisaki's death on August 5, 2023, the remaining members announced the band's disbandment.
