Der Weg einer Freiheit is a German extreme/post-metal band from Würzburg, founded in 2009 by Tobias Jaschinsky and Nikita Kamprad. Current members include Nikita Kamprad (guitar, since 2012 also vocals; previously co-founder and guitarist), Tobias Schuler (drums, since 2011), Nico Rausch (guitar, since around 2017) and Nico Ziska (bass, since 2017). Former members include Tobias Jaschinsky (vocals until 2012), Christian Bass, Guiliano Barbieri and Sascha Rissling. The band writes its lyrics in German and combines black metal with atmospheric and progressive elements; it dispenses with satanic themes and instead focuses on personal sensitivities, memories and social abysses. The discography includes several studio albums: initially Der Weg einer Freiheit (2009; later re-recorded and released via Viva Hate Records) and Unstille (2012). This was followed by Stellar (2015), Finisterre (2017), Noktvrn (2021) and the album Innern (2025).
