The Deadstring Brothers are an American rock band from Detroit, Michigan, fronted by guitarist/vocalist Kurt Marschke. The group initially gained traction with their debut album Deadstring Brothers released in 2003 on Times Beach Records. The band continued to release albums including Starving Winter Report (2005), Silver Mountain (2007), Sao Paulo (2009), and Cannery Row (2013). In 2018, Bloodshot Records issued a digital-only compilation titled Best of The Deadstring Brothers. After relocating to the Pacific Northwest in July 2013, guitarist/vocalist Kurt Marschke formed The Deadstring Family Band with other musicians from various bands including Rootjack and Fernando.
