David James

David James, born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, is a Canadian country music singer-songwriter who began his recording career in 2013. He began his career with the self-released EP This Must Be It in April 2013. In August 2014 he signed with MDM Recordings Inc., releasing “What We Weren’t Looking For” in February 2015, which peaked at number 27 on the Billboard Canada Country chart. Subsequent singles “Some Hearts” and “Lonely Girl” were compiled on the EP Songs About a Girl in March 2016. James expanded his catalog with Downtown Kids in October 2017 and If I Were You in March 2020, the latter featuring songs co-written with Tyler Hubbard and Hardy. His singles “What If I Don’t”, “Later”, “All The Time”, “If I Were You”, “Then There’s You”, “Don’t Mind If I Do”, and “That’s the Life” charted on Canadian country lists, and he received nominations for the 2014 Canadian Country Music Association Discovery Award and the 2017 Rising Star Award.
