Dash Rip Rock, an American musical trio formed in 1984, is known for its cowpunk sound blending punk rock, rockabilly, hard rock, country, and boogie. The band was founded by guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist Bill Davis, alongside bassist Ned "Hoaky" Hickel and drummer F. Clarke Martty. Dash Rip Rock released their self-titled debut album in 1986 on 688 Records, followed by Ace of Clubs in 1989 on Mammoth Records. The band's song "Let's Go Smoke Some Pot", a parody of Danny and the Juniors' "At the Hop", became a live show staple and radio hit in the 1990s. Dash Rip Rock was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2012. Notable albums include Country Girlfriend (2008), Black Liquor (2012), and Cowpunk (2023).
