Darkest Hour, an American metal band from Washington D.C., formed in 1995. The group initially consisted of vocalist John Henry, guitarist Mike Schleibaum, drummer Matt Maben, and bassist Raul Mayorga. They released their first EP, The Misanthrope, in 1996 on Death Truck Records. In 2000, with new members including lead guitarist Fred Ziomek, they released their debut full-length album, The Mark of the Judas. The band's breakthrough came with Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation (2003), produced by Fredrik Nordström, which marked a shift to melodic death metal and gained mainstream attention. Their subsequent albums, including Undoing Ruin (2005) and Deliver Us (2007), achieved chart success on the Billboard 200. In 2017, their album Godless Prophets & the Migrant Flora charted at Number 42 on the Billboard 200.
