Darina GamboÅ¡ová, known professionally as Dara Rolins, is a Slovak singer-songwriter born on December 7, 1972, in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia. She began her career at age nine when she was cast in the television musical ZázraÄný autobus in 1981, leading to regular assignments as a child singer and the release of her debut album Keby som bola princezná Arabela in 1983 on OPUS Records. By her late teens, she released several teen pop-oriented albums, including Darinka (1986) and Äo o mne vieÅ¡ (1988). In 1986, she achieved a one-off success in the German-speaking region with her duet "Fang das Licht" with Karel Gott, which peaked at number 7 on the Austrian Singles Chart. She attempted to regain international status with the album What You See Is What You Get (1996). She released further albums such as Sen lásky (1997), What's My Name (2002), D1 (2006), Stereo (2011), ETC (2017), and Znova a zas (2025), as well as her best-of compilation 1983â1998 in 2005.
