Daniel Alexis Pemberton, born 3 November 1977 in London, United Kingdom, is an English composer, songwriter, keyboard player, pianist, bass player and synthesizer artist. He began composing at age 12, working for the videoâgame magazine Zero and later releasing his debut album Bedroom in 1994, which attracted the attention of ambient musician Pete Namlook and led to a contract with the Fax label. Daniel Pembertonâs career progressed through a succession of film scores, beginning with The Awakening (2011) and the breakthrough The Counselor (2013), followed by highâprofile projects such as Steve Jobs (2015), All the Money in the World (2017), SpiderâMan: Into the SpiderâVerse (2018) and its sequel SpiderâMan: Across the SpiderâVerse (2023). His work earned him an Academy Award nomination for The Trial of the Chicagoâ¯7 (2020), a Golden Globe nomination for The Trial of the Chicagoâ¯7 (2020), an Emmy Award for Rising Phoenix (2021), and a Criticsâ Choice Award for The Rescue (2021). Subsequent releases include Ferrari (2023), Fly Me to the Moon (2024), Concord (2024), Endurance (2024), Materialists (2025), The Bad Guys 2 (2025), Project Hail Mary (2026), and The Drama (2026). Daniel Pembertonâs compositions continue to be released under labels such as Sony Classical, Milan Records and 1812 Recordings, maintaining a consistent presence in contemporary film and television music.
