British violinist born in South Africa in 1973, Daniel Hope took lessons at an early age and studied at London's Royal Academy of Music. From 2002 to 2008, he was a member of the Beaux Arts Trio, which he accompanied until its disbanding. At the same time, he recorded numerous chamber music and orchestral works on his own behalf, as well as thematic recitals such as East Meet West (2005), Air - A Baroque Journey (2009) and Escape to Paradise - The Hollywood Album (2015). A musician with eclectic tastes, the Honorary Professor of London's Royal Academy of Music tackles a very wide range of periods and genres, and multiplies his encounters and experiences. A resident of Vienna and winner of five ECHO Awards, he takes his collector's violin (a Guarneri model from 1737) to stages the world over, and devotes part of his time to charitable causes.
