Daniel Caesar

Ashton Dumar Norwill Simmonds, known professionally as Daniel Caesar, was born on April 5, 1995, in Toronto, Ontario. Raised in Oshawa, he is a Canadian R&B singer and songwriter who began his musical journey singing before his father's congregation. At the age of 17, after being kicked out of his home, Caesar pursued music full-time, releasing his debut EP Praise Break in 2014. His career gained traction with the release of his second EP, Pilgrim's Paradise, in 2015. Caesar released his debut studio album, Freudian, on August 25, 2017, which included notable singles such as "Get You" and "We Find Love". The album received three Grammy Award nominations. His second studio album, Case Study 01, was released in June 28, 2019 and featured collaborations with Brandy and Pharrell Williams. Caesar's third studio album, Never Enough, was released on April 7, 2023, under Republic Records. In 2025, he released his fourth studio album, Son of Spergy, which earned him a number 1 spot on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Throughout his career, Caesar has collaborated with notable artists including Justin Bieber and Tyler, the Creator. His work has earned him multiple Grammy Award nominations and wins, including Best R&B Performance for "Best Part" in 2019.
