Danger Doom

Danger Doom was a United States hip‑hop supergroup formed by producer Danger Mouse and MC MF DOOM, both established figures in alternative and underground rap. Their collaboration began after prior joint efforts such as “Social Distortion” and a remix of Zero 7’s “Somersault,” and culminated in the release of their debut album The Mouse and the Mask on 11 October 2005 under the Adult Swim–backed label. The record featured characters from Adult Swim cartoons, including "Perfect Hair" and "A.T.H.F.", and was later honored with the Hip‑Hop Album of the Year award at the PLUG Independent Music Awards. In 2006, the duo issued the Occult Hymn EP, continuing the cartoon‑themed narrative. No further studio albums were released after this EP, and the project remained inactive following MF DOOM’s death in 2020. The Mouse and the Mask was reissued in 2017 by DOOM’s Metalface Records with the previously unreleased track "Mad Nice" featuring Black Thought of The Roots. The collaboration was noted for its unique blend of hip‑hop production and animated pop culture references, leaving a distinct imprint on the alternative rap landscape.
