Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, a hip-hop duo from Essex, United Kingdom, formed in 2007. Daniel Stephens, known as Dan le Sac, and David Peter Meads, known as Scroobius Pip, combined electronic beats with sung, spoken, and rapped lyrics. Before forming the duo, Dan le Sac worked as a laptop musician, DJ, and promoter, while Scroobius Pip was a spoken word artist who began writing poetry around 2005. Their breakthrough came in late 2006 when they wrote "Thou Shalt Always Kill", which gained significant radio play after being featured on John Kennedy's Xposure show on XFM London. The duo released their debut album, Angles, in 2008 under the Sunday Best record label, reaching Number 31 in the UK album chart. Their second album, The Logic of Chance, was released in March 2010 and included the single "Get Better". In October 2013, they released their third album, Repent Replenish Repeat, which debuted at Number 22 in the UK top 40. The duo also performed at major festivals such as Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds. Scroobius Pip released his debut solo album, Distraction Pieces, in September 2011, while Dan le Sac released his solo album, Space Between the Words, in July 2012. In September 2014, Scroobius Pip announced that he and Dan le Sac had played their last show together, marking the end of their eight-year musical partnership. In 2025, the duo released a compilation of live recordings, Live in Places (2006-2014).
