The Cory Band, founded in 1884 as The Ton Temperance Band in Rhondda of the South Wales Valleys, Britain, is one of the oldest brass bands globally. Initially named after the Temperance movement, the ensemble later became known as the Cory Workmen's Band after receiving financial support from Sir Clifford Cory. The band gained championship status in 1920 and achieved notable milestones such as performing in what is believed to have been the first radio broadcast by a brass band in 1923. They have released numerous albums, including Diadem of Gold (2001), Brass Band Classics Volume 1 (2002), and The World Champions (2014). The band made history in 2016 by winning all three major titles: Best Brass Band at British, National, and European championships, along with the Brass in Concert Championship title, becoming the first band to hold all four titles simultaneously.
