Collegium Musicum 90

Collegium Musicum 90, an English baroque orchestra playing on period instruments, was founded in 1990 by violinist Simon Standage and conductor Richard Hickox. The ensemble was jointly directed by both until Hickox's death in November 2008. Named after the musical societies of the Baroque era, Collegium Musicum 90 specialized in baroque and early music. The orchestra recorded extensively for Chandos Records, with Standage directing violin concertos and Hickox leading large-scale vocal repertoire. They performed at notable venues, including the Proms, and toured across Europe and the United Kingdom.
