Luke Boyd is a Canadian rapper and record producer born on December 13, 1977, in Enfield, Nova Scotia. Known professionally as Classified, he founded the production label Half Life Records and released his debut studio recording Time's Up, Kid (1995). In 2003, Boyd signed a distribution deal with the label URBNET Records and released the studio recording Trial & Error (2003). He collaborated with musicians including Eternia, DL Incognito, and Royce da 5'9" and performed as an opening act for Ludacris. His studio recording Boy-Cott-In the Industry (2005) earned a Juno Award nomination for Rap Recording of the Year in 2006. Boyd reached professional recognition with his eponymous studio recording Classified (2013), which reached Number 1 on the Canadian Albums Chart and was certified platinum by Music Canada. The work featured the hit single "Inner Ninja" (2013), which reached number 5 on the Canadian Hot 100 and won a Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year. Boyd released the studio recording Luke's View in 2024.
