Chris Duncan, born in Australia, is a Scottish fiddle player known for his contributions to traditional folk music. His career began with the release of "Fyvies Embrace - The Golden Age of the Scottish Fiddle" in September 1999 under ABC Classics. This album won the ARIA Award for Best World Music Album in 2000, marking a significant milestone in his career. In November 2006, Duncan released another notable album, The Red House - The Heritage of Scottish Fiddle, with Catherine Strutt and Julian Thompson, also through ABC Classics. His work has been recognized by critics such as Anna King Murdoch from The Age, who described him as one of the "two really great Scottish fiddle players in the world."
