Chon

Chon, an American progressive‑rock/math‑rock band from Oceanside, California, was formed in 2008 by Mario Camarena (guitar), Erick Hansel (guitar), Esiah Camarena (bass), and Nathan Camarena (drums). They began publishing demos online in 2008 and released a self‑released demo titled Chon that same year. In June 2013, they released their first EP, Newborn Sun. In 2014, they followed with another self‑released EP, Woohoo!. Chon signed with Sumerian Records in December 2014 and released their debut album, Grow, in March 2015. The album featured the song “Can’t Wait” and was supported by a tour with Circa Survive. In June 2017, they released their second full-length album, Homey, recorded with Anthony Crawford on bass. Their third album, self-titled Chon, was released on 7 June 2019. On 16 May 2022, Mario and Erick announced via their Discord server that the band was on hiatus.
