Chiaki Kuriyama (born October 10, 1984) is a Japanese actress, model, and singer. She began her career at age five, working as a fashion model for teen magazines such as Pichi Lemon and Nicola. In 1997, she gained attention with her photobook Shinwa Shoujo by Kishin Shinoyama. Kuriyama made her film debut in Shikoku (1999) and gained fame with her role in Battle Royale (2000). This performance caught the attention of Quentin Tarantino, leading to her Hollywood debut in Kill Bill Vol.1 (2003) as Gogo Yubari. Her fight scene with Uma Thurman won "Best Fight" at the MTV Movie Awards 2004. She starred in multiple films and dramas, including Under the Same Moon, Exte, and Hagetaka. In 2010, she made her singing debut with "Ryuusei no Namida", the theme song for Mobile Suit Gundam UC. Her 2011 single "Cold Finger Girl" became the opening theme for Level E.
