Change

Change are an Italian-American post-disco music group formed in 1979 in Bologna, Italy. Inspired by disco icons Chic, the band were founded by entrepreneur and executive producer Jacques Fred Petrus and Mauro Malavasi, and initially operated as a studio outfit featuring an evolving line-up of musicians. Their debut album, The Glow Of Love, released in 1980 on Warner/RFC Records, featured the hit single "A Lover’s Holiday", which sold millions of copies and included ad-libs from Zachary Sanders, whose reputation came from his work on US animated series Schoolhouse Rock! The album also featured Luther Vandross on vocals for tracks like "Searching" and "The Glow of Love", both of which topped Billboard's Club Play Singles chart for nine weeks. Change's second album, Miracles, released in 1981, continued their success with hits like "Paradise", "Hold Tight", and "Heaven Of My Life". Luther Vandross left the group after the release of Miracles to pursue a solo career. In 1982, Change released Sharing Your Love, which marked a shift towards R&B and funk genres. The band's commercial success began to decline with the release of This Is Your Time in 1983. However, they rebounded with Change of Heart in 1984, produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, which featured their first top ten R&B hit in three years. The group disbanded in 1986 following the release of Turn On Your Radio.
