César Mora

César Mora (born June 25, 1960, in Cali, Colombia) is a renowned salsa singer-songwriter, composer, actor, and bandleader whose rich career spans over four decades. He first gained recognition as the charismatic frontman of the Colombian salsa ensemble Son del Pueblo in the 1980s, where his vibrant vocals and stage presence became foundational to the group's sound. El Jibarito, his debut album, was released in 1989. In 1999, he launched the album Canela, featuring the title track that became a staple in Colombian salsa playlists. Continuing his musical exploration, he released Hacerlo Bien in 2005, balancing upbeat dance cuts with lyrical warmth, and followed it with the introspective Mi Bendición in 2013, which included standout songs like “A Fanny,” “Ella Se Esconde,” and “Ocaso.” Over the next years, he remained active in music production, delivering singles such as “Dale Cepillo” (2019) and the heartfelt “Tu Risa” (2023), each blending his classic salsa roots with modern arrangements. Alongside his musical accomplishments, César Mora has sustained a prolific acting career, earning major awards including the Simón Bolívar Television Prize (1988) and India Catalina award (2008), with notable roles in El Confesor, El Zorro, la espada y la rosa, and Sin senos sí hay paraíso.
