Celebrate the Nun was a German synth-pop band formed in 1987, consisting of H.P. Baxxter on lead vocals, Rick J. Jordan on synthesizer, Britt Maxime on electronic drums, and Slin Tompson on synthesizer and drums. The group released their debut album Meanwhile in 1989, which included the single "Ordinary Town". Their breakthrough came with the release of "Will You Be There" in 1989, reaching number 5 on the Billboard Dance Play chart. Following Slin Tompson's departure in 1990, the band released their second album Continuous in 1991. However, due to a decline in synthpop popularity, Celebrate the Nun disbanded in 1992. After disbanding, H.P. Baxxter and Rick J. Jordan formed Scooter with Ferris Bueller. In 1998, Slin Tompson reformed the group as Celebrate the None with Phoen X and Skye Burns. The band's entire discography was made available on an online streaming platform in 2009.
