Cassiane

Cassiane is a longtime icon of the gospel and Christian pop communities in Brazil, having released new material at a consistent clip since the early 1980s. Born as Cassiane Santana Santos Macnhães Guimarães on January 27, 1973, she was raised by a devout family in Nova Iguaçu and began singing worship music at three years old. Her debut album, 1981's Cristo é a Força, was recorded and released shortly thereafter, while Cassisane was only eight. She remained prolific throughout her early childhood, releasing 1982's Dou Glória a Deus, 1984's Rosa de Saron, and 1987's Desafio before she turned 15 years old. She married Jairinho Manhães in 1994 and reached a newfound peak in her career with 1996's gold-selling Sem Palavras. Her career continued to soar during the decade's latter half, with 1998's Para Sempre going platinum and 1999's Com Muito Louvor earning a diamond certification. She became a minister of her church in 2005 and continued releasing popular collections of devotional music, including 2007's Faça Diferença, 2011's Ao Som dos Louvores, 2013's Um Espetáculo de Adoração, and 2016's Tempo de Excelência.
