CashMo

Cashmo, whose real name is Achim Welsch, was born in Stolberg on April 17, 1984. He grew up in Duisburg with his mother and sister. He discovers his passion for rap while still in a youth home and later in prison. During his time in prison, he writes lyrics, listens to US rap and begins to produce his own beats. After his release in 2002, Cashmo founded the rap group Rebellous-Soldia together with Tu2Face - without any major official output - before establishing himself as a solo artist. In 2008, he released his debut album Im Visier via the Blokkmukke label founded by him and DJ Plattenpapzt. The genre remains German rap/street rap. His discography includes several studio albums: Im Visier (2008), In Erinnerung (2013), 1994 (2017), Hoez & Broz (2017), 1998 (2020), Hoez & Broz II (2022) and the most recently released album Alman (July 11, 2025). The chart positions show: Alman climbs to number 2 in the German hip hop charts. 1998 also reaches a top position (16th place), preceded by 1994 (51st place) and Hoez & Broz (96th place). EPs and mixtapes include the free EPs 180 Grad (2013), Welcome to Hate (2018), Die Mac EP (2019) and Welcome to Hate 2 (2020). Single releases in 2022 include "Made Man" (feat. Sido), which reached number 20 in the German single trend charts. Cashmo experiences highs and lows: In his youth, he was jailed for theft and later for a petrol station robbery. This is where his musical drive is born. Financial crises during the pandemic led to high debts, which he was able to overcome with the help of his album in 1998. At the same time, he expanded his business: He now runs several tattoo studios (NXT LVL INK) in Germany and Mallorca. Cashmo polarizes with controversial topics.
