Canticuénticos

Canticuénticos emerged in Santa Fe, Argentina, in 2007 when educators Ruth Hillar, Daniela Ranallo, and fellow musicians formed a collective dedicated to children’s music rooted in Latin American folk rhythms. In 2009, they released their debut album Canticuénticos Embrujados, which showcased playful, folkloric originals and led to increasing visibility through live performances at schools and family festivals. Over the next decade, the core lineup—featuring Hillar (voice, flute, accordion), Laura Ibáñez and Cintia Bertolino (voices), Gonzalo Carmelé (bass, backing vocals), Daniel Bianchi (guitar, charango, vocals), Nahuel Ramayo (drums, percussion, vocals), and Sebastián Cúneo (production/sound)—expanded their repertoire with Nada en su lugar (2013), Algo que decirte (2015), and ¿Por qué, por qué? (2018), the latter earning acclaim for addressing sensitive topics like consent in songs such as “Hay secretos.” In 2020, they released A cocochito, which won the Gardel Award for Best Children's Album, while also launching a series of illustrated songbooks tied to their music. Recognized by Argentina’s Senate and the city of Santa Fe as cultural ambassadors, they released the album Para saber que te quiero in 2023, continuing their mission of combining entertainment, cultural heritage, and education. In 2025, they were honored with a Konex Award for their contributions to popular music over the decade.
