Candan Erçetin

Candan Erçetin (born 10 February 1961 in Lüleburgaz) is a renowned Turkish singer-songwriter of Albanian and Macedonian descent, celebrated for her significant contributions to Turkish music. Her first big break came while she was still in high school, recording the song "Halley", and later with a coveted spot representing Turkey at the 1986 Eurovision Song Contest as a member of the group Klips ve Onlar. She launched her solo career in 1995 with the Thracian and Macedonian-themed album Hazırım ("I'm Ready"), adding to her discography over the years with subsequent releases such as 2002's Neden ("Why?") and Balkan pop albums like 2013's Milyonlarca Kuştuk... She toasted her 25th anniversary in 2020 with a new single, "İyi ki", and two years later found herself in the spotlight when her track "Gamsız Hayat" was featured in the lauded British movie Aftersun.
