Brynn Anne Cartelli, born on April 16, 2003, in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, is an American pop singer who began playing piano at age five and started taking voice lessons in middle school. In 2018, Cartelli auditioned for the 14th season of The Voice, singing "Beneath Your Beautiful" by Labrinth and Emeli Sandé during her blind audition. She turned two chairs and chose Kelly Clarkson as her coach, ultimately winning the competition on May 21, 2018, at age 15. Following her victory, Cartelli signed with Atlantic Records. She released her debut EP Based on a True Story in May 2021. She has since released several singles, including "Long Way Home" (2022) and "Girl in the Mirror" (2022), and her debut album Based on a True Story was scheduled for 2024.
