Box of Frogs

Box of Frogs was an English rock ensemble formed in 1983 in London. The group was established by former Yardbirds members Chris Dreja, Paul Samwell-Smith, and Jim McCarty. John Fiddler joined the lineup as lead vocalist. The ensemble released its eponymous debut studio recording, Box of Frogs, in 1984 through Epic Records. The album featured guest appearances by Jeff Beck and musicians including Rory Gallagher and Mark Feltham. Plans for a US tour were made but did not materialize. The group released its second album, Strange Land, in 1986. This recording featured guest vocalists including Graham Parker, Ian Dury, and Roger Chapman. Guitarist Jimmy Page performed on the track “Asylum”. The band became inactive shortly after the release of the second album.
