BoA

BoA is the stage name of South Korean singer and actress who is often referred to as the "Queen of K-Pop". Born Bo-Ah Kwon on November 5, 1986 in Namyangju, South Korea, BoA has sold over 10 million records throughout her career and has had a record-breaking six consecutive number-one studio albums on the Oricon charts. Scouted by SM Entertainment at 11 years old, Kwon released her debut Korean album, ID; Peace B, in 2000 and first Japanese record, Listen to My Heart, in 2002, and is the only foreign artist to have sold over a million copies in Japan. She released her US debut single, “Eat You Up”, in 2008, and her first English-language self-titled debut the following year. Kwon lent her voice talents to the Korean dubbed version of animated film, Over The Hedge, in 2006, and appeared as a judge for the first two seasons of reality talent show, K-pop Star (2011 – 2013). She released her tenth Korean album Better, in 2020 and was a coach for the third season of The Voice of Korea that same year. BoA has also collaborated with a number of Western artists, including American rapper Akon and Irish pop group Westlife.
