Bluegrass Album Band

The Bluegrass Album Band was a bluegrass supergroup founded in 1980 by Tony Rice and J. D. Crowe in the United States of America. Initially formed to record a solo album for Tony Rice, the collaboration proved successful, leading to the release of The Bluegrass Album in 1981. This marked the beginning of a series of albums, including Bluegrass Album, Vol. 3: California Connection (1983), Vol. 4 (1985), and Vol. 5 - Sweet Sunny South (1989). The group continued to release music through the 1990s and early 2000s, with notable albums such as Bluegrass Instrumentals • Volume 6 (1996) and Down the Road: Bluegrass Songs of Flatt And Scruggs (2002). In September 2012, the band announced a reunion show held in February 2013 at Bluegrass First Class in Asheville, NC.
