Portuguese rapper José Carlos Coelho Almeida Tavares, better known by his stage name Bluay, was born in Lisbon on August 21, 1999. He grew up in the Ajuda district, where he began his musical career at the age of 14, starting to produce music at home and sharing his productions on social networks. In 2019, Bluay releases his first single "Louco", which accumulates millions of listens on platforms and earns him the Play Song of the Year award in 2021. In 2020, three more releases followed with the titles "Solteiro", "Offline" and "Etrelas", which maintained the rapper's popularity, followed by "Pelos Dois" in 2021 and "Melanina" in 2022. After collaborating with David Carreira on "Saudade" with Chelsea Dinorath in 2023, Bluay released the track "Faz Bem", featuring Julinho KSD, the following year, which proved to be another viral hit, before breaking into the Portuguese charts at number 43. Bluay works on his Era Once EP and follows this up with the track "Clima", also released in 2024.
