Bjørn Riis

Bjørn Riis is a Norwegian musician, songwriter, and producer best known as the co-founder, guitarist, and primary songwriter of the progressive rock band Airbag, as well as for his evocative solo work. Drawing inspiration from classic prog rock giants like Pink Floyd, Marillion, and Porcupine Tree, Riis has carved out a signature sound marked by atmospheric textures, introspective lyrics, and emotive guitar solos. As a solo artist, he has released a series of critically acclaimed albums, including Lullabies in a Car Crash (2014), Forever Comes to an End (2017), A Storm Is Coming (2019), and Everything to Everyone (2022). His music explores themes of isolation, identity, and emotional vulnerability, often blending cinematic soundscapes with the melodic sensibility of 1970s and 1980s prog. Renowned for his expressive guitar work and meticulous production, Bjørn Riis has become a respected figure in the modern progressive rock scene, earning a loyal international following. In both his solo efforts and with Airbag, his music continues to push the boundaries of progressive rock while remaining deeply personal and emotionally resonant.
