Billie Piper

As a fresh-faced 15-year-old graduate of the Sylvia Young Stage School, Billie Piper danced her way to 1990s pop stardom with the infectious tween singalong Because We Want To. The squeaky clean, bubblegum anthem shot to Number 1 in the UK and was soon followed to the top of the charts by second single Girlfriend as the Swindon teenager became a British pop sensation. Part of a highly publicised showbiz romance with Ritchie Neville from boyband Five, her debut album Honey To The B (1998) reached a disappointing Number 14, but Billie bounced back with her third Number 1 single Day & Night and second album Walk of Life (2000). By now she had dumped Ritchie in favour of endless partying with TV and radio host Chris Evans, with whom she ran off to Las Vegas to marry in 2001. Leaving her pop career behind, she turned to acting and landed the role as the Doctor's assistant Rose Tyler in hit BBC sci-fi series Dr Who before stripping off for ITV drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
