Big Wild

Electronic producer, composer, and performer Jackson Stell – born August 31, 1999 in Lancaster, Massachusetts – is better known by his stage name Big Wild. He started his career under the name J Beatz, a hip-hop producer in Massachusetts. After finishing college, he moved to Los Angeles, California and pursued a career in the electronic music world as Big Wild. In 2015, he toured with electronic duo Odesza. That same year, he remixed Odesza’s track “Say My Name” and gained attention from his own single “Aftergold” (featuring Tove Styrke). His debut EP, Invincible, was released in 2017, followed two months later by the Empty Room EP. In 2019, Big Wild released his debut full-length album Superdream, featured the tracks “City of Sound”, “She Makes Magic”, and “6’s to 9’s”. The new album debuted Big Wild as the primary vocalist, lyricist, and songwriter for the first time. In 2022, his second album, The Efferusphere, delved into more introspective sounds with collaborations like “Blue” featuring LP Giobbi and followed by The Efferusphere with Friends, a collaborative remix album featuring contributions from Cory Wong, Bay Ledges, Kerala Dust, Slenderbodies, Josh Fudge, Rationale and Brijean. In 2025, Big Wild pursued with singles “Love Any Longer” and “Universe”, from the upcoming album Wild Child, featuring collaborations with Phantogram, Twen, and Ida Hawk.
